Accountability Questions

People who conceal their sins will not prosper,
but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.
- Proverbs 28:13

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.
- James 5:16

Afterward the Lord asked Cain, “Where is your brother? Where is Abel?” “I don’t know,” Cain responded. “Am I my brother’s guardian?”
 - Genesis 4:9

A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.
- Ecclesiastes 4:12

Use these questions to help overcome sin and temptation, to grow closer to Jesus, and to encourage one another!
As someone confesses their sin to you:
Remind your partner that it's a sin
Remind them they are forgiven
Remind them they can do better
Pray for each other to follow Jesus closer

*(Confessed sins should remain confident)*

1. Have I spent daily time reading the Bible and praying?

2. Have I been completely honest in all my financial dealings and tithes/offerings?

3. Have I acted inappropriately in any area of my life that I am currently struggling with or have any unconfessed sin?

4. Did I invest time this week in both my family and church family?

5. Have I shared Jesus or done something specifically to impact the world for Jesus? What 3 un-churched people am I currently influencing towards Jesus?

6. Is there someone that I need to forgive or that I am having trouble forgiving or need to resolve conflict with?

7. How would my spouse (or those closest to me) say I have treated them this week?

8. Did I damage another person by my words, either behind their back or face-to-face?

9. Have I gotten adequate rest (not more or less) and exercised regularly?

10. Is there something that I think God is telling me to do that I haven’t?

11. Have I met face-to-face with an accountability partner in the last 30 days?

12. Have I just lied or compromised the truth in any of my answers to these questions?

*if you were uncomfortable confessing anything in this meeting, take 5 minutes and discuss it with God. And ask for the courage to be open about it.
