Giveback – Serving God and Each Other
We started by reflecting on a few questions:
“Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” – John 13:34-35
We’re called to serve with the gifts God’s given each of us.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others…” – 1 Peter 4:10
Discovering Your Gifts
God equips all of us with different gifts—wisdom, service, encouragement, leadership, etc. (See 1 Corinthians 12:7-11).

How We Give Back at The Porch
Giving back isn’t just a one-time thing — it’s a part of our culture at The Porch. Whether it’s through serving on Sundays, during the week, or out in the community, there’s a place for everyone to use their gifts.
1. Serving on Sundays
These roles help make Sunday mornings meaningful and welcoming:
Opportunities beyond Sunday include:
We believe the church should be a blessing to our town and the surrounding area. We consistently host or participate in events to give back to our community. Here are a few examples:
Our call to give back extends globally, too. The Porch is planning its first international missions trip to Peru next year! This is a fresh opportunity for us to take the love of Jesus beyond our local community and be part of what God is doing around the world.
No matter your schedule, skillset, or comfort zone, there’s a space for you to serve and make a difference. If something here stands out to you — or if you’re not sure where to start — let us know. We’d love to answer questions or help you find your fit!
Giving Financially
We also talked about giving through tithes and offerings.
“God loves a cheerful giver.” – 2 Corinthians 9:7
If you have any questions about how giving works at The Porch — or about finances in general — don’t hesitate to reach out.
One Final Thought
Giving back isn’t just something we do — it’s who we are as followers of Jesus. It’s how we reflect His love to others and grow in community.
If you have any ideas for how we can serve better — let us know. We’re always looking for new ways to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
We started by reflecting on a few questions:
- Have you ever felt served at church? What did that feel like?
- Have you ever volunteered your time for someone else?
